What to Expect in the Custom Design Process

Carly Quinn Designs gives you the unique opportunity to buy custom tiles that are made exclusively for your home. If you are looking for some one-of-a-kind appeal, keep reading to find out what you can expect from the custom design process:
Talk to the Designer
The process begins with a consultation with the designer. You will sit down and discuss what you want from your tiles. Even if you do not have a clear idea of the designs and colors you want to use, we will ask questions about your personal aesthetic and your installation needs.
Look Over the Initial Sketches
After the consultation, we work up a few different sketches based on the information you gave. The sketches are drawn with pencil and do not have any color. You look over the sketches and find the one that you like the best. If you are not completely satisfied with the sketches, you can work with our team until you see exactly what you want. We then come up with a color scheme with which to enhance the design.
Check Out the Final Drawing
When we are sure that you are completely happy with the design, we hand draw it into a blank pre-fired red tile base. This allows you to see the outline on actual tile to give you a better idea of the final product.
Completing the Tile
We glaze over the tile to make sure the design stays in place. Once that is complete, we fire the mural in our kilns to create a glass surface. Once the tile has been properly fired and cooled, we can start the installation process.
